This beautiful, peaceful elopement set in Tulum, Mexico was a DREAM to capture. It was full of beauty and fun and was a step out of my comfort zone as a photographer. Designed and hosted by the incredible Claire from UK based Butler and White and María from María Límon. This shoot was all about love between two people and the Earth, and it was a pleasure to capture it. 

Tulum, Mexico is the hotspot for small elopement ceremonies. With its outdoor ceremonies, any couple could feel the love felt from the soft waves of the ocean or the soft sand at your feet. It’s paradise on Earth. This elopement can only be described as celestial, influenced by the flow of the universe and the love and beauty of nature. It is a boho wedding mecca for weddings! Tulum, Mexico holds a special place in my heart. I’ve shot many wedding ceremonies and wedding elopements here and every time I have visited, it’s as magical as the first time.

The details in this wedding were EVERYTHING. La Valise, the hotel that became the perfect backdrop for this ceremony was positioned with the beach peeking through, making it the perfect wedding location for the couple. The green palm trees that cascaded behind the lovebirds surrounded them with the perfect beachy backdrop for these photos.

What’s so awesome about this elopement is that every detail you see was made with sustainable material like the ceremony including the tablescapes, recyclable papers and glassware as well as reusing vintage glass and ceramics to tie it all together. The hand dyed cotton table scape as well as napkins gave this wedding a sustainable twist that was also done by Butler & White. The gorgeous sun gold arch the couple shared their “I dos” as well as the dried florals were created by the Floral Queen María Límon. Looking at these photos, that sun gold arch created this sunset feel for the wedding and blended perfectly with the sun setting across the ocean.

With the pandemic now stretching out over a year, elopements and intimate weddings are turning into a good option for couples who don’t want to spend the time planning a bigger wedding. Tulum is a great location to begin the rest of your lives together in an intimate way.
