The Beekman Hotel is a decadent and luxury hotel in downtown New York City. A & B knew this was the location for their engagement photos. They wanted their love story to be told in a timeless and romantic way and that’s exactly what they got.

The Beekman Hotel

Nestled in the center of Manhattan, this iconic NYC hotel is a perfect combination of old fashion and modern eloquence – making it the perfect location for A & B’s editorial hotel engagement photos. Therefore we utilized all of it’s elegant architecture, decadent 19th-century decor and design, and ambiance.

Editorial Engagement Outfits

When I met with A & B, they noted that they wanted an elevated, luxurious feel to their engagement session. I was instantly excited to make their love story come to life. This chic couple wore two outfits for their shoot. A wore a stunning white halter-neck sheath dress and her second outfit was an off the shoulder. B wore a classic black suit and tie and his second outfit was a tan suit and tie. The combination of monochromatic outfits made the photos feel sexy and elegant – perfect for editorial photos.

Capturing Editorial Engagement Photos

Editorial photography is one of my favorites to capture because it focuses on storytelling. It’s so important to find the harmony between the setting and people but we did that for A & B. At the Beekman Hotel, there’s a central sunlight that shined through and light was used to create some artistically beautiful couple photos. We captured some great engagement photos in the grand open levels, the bar, and the main lobby. We also played around with flash photography in their dark stairways. New York City Engagement Photos

It wouldn’t be a true NYC engagement without hitting the streets. After the Beekman hotel, A & B changed into their second outfits, and we strolled on the iconic streets. The city atmosphere is so infectious that it gives you that Vogue energy. This is exactly what A & B gave!
