So you are getting married soon! I always get a lot of brides coming to me before their special day asking about doing a bridal session. It’s been gaining a lot of popularity, especially very recently! So you may ask, well Lety, What exactly is a bridal session?

A bridal session is a photo shoot in your wedding attire days prior to your big day or even days after! There’s a lot that comes from doing a bridal session! It’s a great investment to get the pictures you want from your special day! There are a variety of reasons to get a bridal session done, from weather to personal reasons. Let’s go over some!

One of my brides really wanted outdoor photos for her wedding. She even went as far to book an outdoor venue for the specific reason to have outdoor photos.  And of course, on her actual day, it RAINED! With a bridal session she was able to get the outdoor session photos she had originally wanted on a sunnier and dryer day! 

When it is the day of your wedding, your mind is going in 100 different directions. From the moment you wake up to your tasks you are checking off your list in your mind. Sometimes things fall through the cracks wirth all the chaos that comes along with your wedding day which can include some photos you wanted to take! If you don’t want to stress with taking photos on your special day and clear up some time, a bridal session can be for you!

Some couples reach out to be about bridal sessions because they are having their wedding in a hall, or church, or a specific venue, and they want bridal photos at another location! Of course on the day of their wedding, they can’t drive to different locations for photos, so bridal sessions are a great solution to that! They can get the best of both worlds!

Some couples also would love to have photos aside from their engagement photos on display at their wedding. Bridal sessions done before their big day solves that! The bride can have a trial hair and makeup session done and you both can have your photos taken before the wedding, and use those photos in your reception! 

For a bride, the wedding itself has a big price tag. But second to that is the DRESS. It can be super expensive, and some brides want it to have a few more moments in the spotlight! I love bridal sessions! And even if you decide to do one or not, it’s a fun idea that has been gaining a lot of popularity lately!. You can get the most out of your wedding attire especially if things get missed or the weather isn’t cooperating on your big day! Rain is not bad, it’s actually good luck! BUT if you planned on photos outdoors in the sun, try a bridal session! I hear it from my brides when it happens that they would love outside sunset photos and I’m always down for them =))
